A large Chinese bronze tripod censer with cover supported by three legs, sides with two ring-handles and Foo-dog heads. Cast with Longevities, bats and design in high relief. Pierced cover and finial as a reclining elephant. Qing, 19th century. Weight 9362 g. H. 43 cm. Carved wooden stand incl.

Provenance: Carl Alfred Jensen, 1886–1953. CAJ was engineer at the Northern Telegraph Company and was posted in China 1911–1927, where he lived with his wife and two daughters. The family stayed at various places in China, but were mainly living in Tiensien.
