Large Fulani head-/ear- ornaments - Fulani - Mali
Beautiful extra large headpiece in the design of earrings but so large that they have to be suspended with a cotton cord over the head. This size is very rare to find. Worn by women of the Fulani-tribe. These over-sized decorations also accentuate the family's wealth. Made of a very thin metal sheeting, covered in a gold-coloured patina. \r
Decorated with arrow-shaped designs on the rims. \r
Collected in the city of Mopti in the late 1990's. \r
