Large German Bisque Porcelain Figure of Cupid and Psyche with Jewelry Casket, Late 19th Century

Exceptional German bisque porcelain figural group depicting Cupid and Psyche in a charming romantic scene. Cupid, identified by his delicately modeled wings and quiver of arrows, playfully places a colorful bead necklace around Psyche while she admires the jewelry in her hand. At their feet rests an open jewelry casket containing additional necklaces and miniature portrait medallions, all rendered with remarkable detail
The figures are beautifully hand painted with soft flesh tones, rosy cheeks, pastel accents, and finely modeled curls. They stand beside a naturalistic tree stump on a richly decorated oval base adorned with blue ribbon swags, floral garlands, raised gilt beading, and gilt trim. The composition is an excellent example of late 19th century German porcelain artistry, combining refined sculptural modeling with intricate hand-painted decoration
Measure 24"in H x 15"in W
