Large Harvey F. Haltmeyer Sand Bottle, McGregor, Iowa, 1964, depicting a Mississippi River steamer, a spreadwing eagle and shield, and inscribed in sand "MADE BY/H.F. HALTMEYER/McGREGOR IA./1964" with patterned band and wavy line decoration, in a tall Columbia-style display jar, ht. 19 1/2 in.

Note: Harvey F. Haltmeyer (1888-1870) emigrated from Austria settling in McGregor, Iowa. He began producing sand bottle around 1925. This bottle is thought to be the largest example of Haltmeyer's work.
