Large Hawaiian Poi Bowl, Umeke la'au pakaka, 19th century, probably Kou wood, with quite thick sides, used for food storage and serving poi at feasts, the exterior finished with kukui nut oil, the interior unfinished, ht. 8 1/2, wd. 17 in.
