Large Luristan Copper Spear Point
Ancient Near East, Luristan, Marlik, or other area around the Caspian Sea, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. An impressive slender copper-cast spearhead with a long tapered point and high central ridge above an octagonal midrib that widens towards its base, and a square tang with a flattened end. Presenting with a hue of deep copper and accented with a light russet and seafoam green patina, this elegant weapon is an excellent example from ancient Luristan. Size: 30.5" L x 1.125" W (77.5 cm x 2.9 cm)
