Large Machine Loomed Floral Medallion Area Rug in Burgundy and Cream

A large room-size area rug featuring a traditional Persian-style design. The composition is centered around a complex floral medallion executed in cream, navy blue, rose, and sage green tones. This central motif is set against a saturated deep burgundy field, which is further decorated with scrolling foliate corner spandrels. A wide primary border surrounds the field, composed of dense floral patterns and interconnected scrolling vine motifs that echo the palette of the central medallion. The rug is constructed with a dense pile, likely composed of wool on a synthetic or cotton foundation. The construction is machine-loomed, evidenced by the uniform weave visible on the reverse and the fringe, which is a separate strip sewn onto the ends of the rug. A white adhesive tag attached to the rug bears the handwritten numerals 103 x 150.

The rug is in very good overall condition. The pile appears full and plush across the entire surface with no visible traffic patterns or areas of localized thinning. The fringe is intact along both ends, showing only minor tangling consistent with normal handling (photo 1). No stains, fading, or structural losses are visible in the provided photographs.
