Large Middle Jurassic Ammonite group, Middle Jurassic

Large Middle Jurassic Ammonite group, Middle Jurassic Period, c. 172-168 Million years ago, from the Central High Atlas Mountain range, Morocco. This is an amazing decorator display fossil. Specimens like this are extremely rare in such completeness and quality of preservation. This remarkable cluster includes 13 different ammonite sea life fossils in spectacular preservation. The range of species includes rare examples of Emileia bulligeraa, Sonninia papillata, Harpoceras, Lytoceras, and Shirbuirnia trigonalis to name a few. Each ammonite is an excellent example of their respective kinds, on their host rock in full three dimensional form. All ammonites are wonderfully preserved in a fully inflated form and in high relief on the matrix. The group displays as a superb multi-dimensional display. Each ammonite shows rare shell detail as well as full inflation with no distortion. Matrix: 23 ½ in x 14 ½ in; Ammonites: 2 ¾ in across to 6 ¾ in across. Ex private fossil collection acquired in 2003.
