Large Ornate Gilt Framed Rectangular Bevelled Wall Mirror.
A large rectangular wall mirror featuring an ornate gilt-finished frame. The frame is constructed from wood and moulded composition, decorated with a continuous Baroque revival foliate and acanthus leaf scroll motif. The outer perimeter of the frame displays a pierced openwork design, while the inner border is finished with a repeating gadrooned pattern. The mirror plate is clear and features a broad bevelled edge to the perimeter. The reverse of the mirror is fitted with a hardboard backing held by metal tabs, and a single metal hanging bracket is attached to one short end. The frame edges and openwork sections are finished in a consistent bright gold gilt.

The frame exhibits minor losses to the gilt finish and small chips to the moulded composition, most notably visible at the mitre joints and outer corners (photo 2). The mitre joints show slight separation consistent with age and construction (photo 3). The mirror plate appears generally clear with some surface dust and minor spots to the silvering consistent with its mid-20th-century period (photo 1). The hardboard backing and hanging hardware are intact and functional (photo 5).
