Large Sterling Strauser O/B Painting, Three Monkeys

Sterling Strauser (Pennsylvania, 1907-1995) abstract oil on board painting depicting three monkeys playing in tree branches in a jungle setting, rendered in a heavy impasto technique. Signed and dated "Strauser 76" lower right. Retains a wooden painting liner but no frame. Sight: 35 1/2" H x 47 1/2" W. Liner: 37 1/4" H x 49 1/4" W. Provenance: The collection of a Tennessee institution.
