Switzerland, "Drums Bells Castagnets" 17 1/2 inch, 12 air cylinder music box, the case with walnut, rosewood and other various veneers, line inlays, and multicolor music themed marquetry trophy, inside of lid with chromolithograph tune card featuring children playing instruments with a serial no. 100734, nickel plated movement with cylinder and combs at front, the back with six engraved bells with polychrome enameled, floral form retaining nuts and enameled bee and butterfly strikers, flanked by a snare drum and castagnets, with levers to silence any or all of the percussion instruments

Condition Report: lid has cracks, one of which is significant and has a detached wood piece, loss of veneer in front corner, other case veneers and inlays in good condition, nickel parts have some tarnish, tune card has lost its top corners but is otherwise intact, internal glass top has lost its key and opens by an attached fabric tab, enamel figures with minor losses, mostly the left hand butterfly; movement is dirty but movement will wind and music will play, circa 1880
