Large Tapestry Panel with Picnic Scene

18th-19th century AD. A large woven fabric figural panel depicting a group of young people in Georgian dress enjoying a picnic beneath the branches of a tree with balustrade and lion statue; mandolin, sword and other accoutrements discarded in the grass, salver with fruit on a spread; French workmanship. 3.4 kg, 2.29 x 1.91m (90 x 75 1/4"). Property of an Ely lady; acquired 1999 with property contents; formerly hanging in a chateau belong to the Schwarzenberg family in Starosedlský Hrádek, Czech Republic since the 19th century.
