Large Viking Iron Knife Blade
**First Time At Auction**
Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A forged-iron blade of a lengthy size with a cutting edge opposite a thick spine. The blade tapers to a pointed tip and all is covered in a rich, russet patina. The thick tang would have been inserted into a handle made of either wood or bone to facilitate its grip and overall use. Size: 13.125" L x 1.25" W (33.3 cm x 3.2 cm)
