Large WMF table centrepiece, Vienna, c. 1900,
Body made of metal, brass and pewter, partly silver-plated (silver plating worn off); round base with four legs tapering upwards, surmounted by an eagle standing on a large sphere and carrying a young beauty; in the lower section, two candle holders for thick candles are fitted, also decorated in the Art Nouveau style; manufacturer’s mark on the right-hand candle holder arm – A. K. + Cie– (A. Köhler in Vienna) ran the WMF branch in Vienna.
