Large and articulated "Cap i Pota" from Catalonia - Dressed Sorrowful Mother Virgin- polychrome carved wood - Late 18th century

A large wooden and painted carving of the Virgin, Sorrowful Mother. She is dressed with silk, linen or cotton, gold threads and trimmings. They were called in Spain Cap i Pota, as they can be dressed with different clothes and she is articulated on arms. Very rare as she is sitting, they were use to be stand. 66cm including wooden base, 61cm without. Clothes have some wear and tears. Inside dress some color is missing. All fingers, unusual as because age this sculptures use to have some of them missing. A very nice opportunity to get an original spanish dressing wooden Virgin, not any restoring, not any new clothes.
