Large and fine Chinoiserie vase- Bronze, Copper, Gilt - Second half 19th century

An excellent and heavy copper and bronze vase, standing 35. 5cm tall and weighing almost 6Kg, finely decorated in Chinoiserie style with reticulated diagonal band over the body adorned with central gilt medallion depicting a dragon with flaming pearl in high relief, the gilt bronze handles emerging from the heads of mythical beasts. Although the vase is very French in design, we attribute it to Compagnie des Bronzes, Brussels, circa 1860-1880. Condition: Generally very good, no damages observed. Very slight bend in the under-rim. Central bolt is a replacement. Minor wear and surface corrosion commensurate with age.
