Large and heavy signed vase (17kg) - Swallows - Patinated bronze - Japan - Early Meïji era (1868-1912)

From 'GRAND-MÈRE AVAIT LES MÊMES' (Grandma had the same ones) . Here is an impressive and very heavy (17 kg) quadripod vase in patinated bronze with rich decoration and very beautiful carvings. On one side, there are two birds around pomegranates and other fruits; on the other side, two swallows on branches; on each handle there is a jetty with seven swallows (the one at the bottom is not very visible) on vineyards' shoots. On the base decoration of chrysanthemums and the four feet in stylised elephants' heads. Inscription on ideograms below. Origin: Japan Period: Beginning of the Meïji era (1868−1912) . Condition: The whole of it in good condition taking into account the period it was made, beautiful patina of the passage of time; worth noting that a bird's wing is missing (on the second side) and a bird's beak (on a handle at the top) . Measurements: 38 cm x 34 x 24 cm.
