Large and substantial Byzantine/Early Islamic bowl
A large and substantial Byzantine/Early Islamic caramel (amber) glass ribbed bowl, c. 6th - 8th Century AD, mold made and of very thick and heavy construction with a floral pattern on the bottom and ribbed sides. 2 3/8 x 5 1/8 in (6 x 13.7 cm). Well-preserved with remnants of deposits in the recesses. Ex Stanley Batkin collection, New York, acquired in 1979.
