A large golden-toned bronze censer. It has a rectangular base and a domed body decorated with Chinese characters and incised bats, as well as fruits in relief arranged on both sides. The four curved legs represent the heads of mythological beasts. The lid is decorated with engraved and openwork floral and geometric motifs, with thick ginger-root-shaped branches on either side, and a large foo dog on the top. The vases that accompany the lot have an elongated, balustraded profile with two ginger-root handles at shoulder height. 20th century.
