Large frame - .800 silver - Italy - Mid 20th century

Large size frame in solid silver, entirely hand crafted and richly decorated with burin engravings. It can be used as a wall mirror by adding a glass. The decorative motifs are inspired by the Louis XV style, with scrolls of acanthus leaves, flowers and shells. With a hook on the back side to be hung on the wall. Hallmarks: "800" and "17 MI" (a Milanese silversmith active from 1935 to the 1950s) . Preserved in very good condition; nothing’s missing; still with its original patina. Weight (frame only) : 3522 grams. Inner dimensions: 50 x 40 cm; overall dimensions: 77 x 61 cm. It comes with a wooden panel, green velvet lined and shaped exactly as the frame.
