Stunning, large, antique Dutch silver biscuit box on matching silver saucer. The lot is exceptionally beautiful in shape and both are handmade with great detail. Both the biscuit box and the beautiful large silver saucer have been finished by hand with a pearl rim. The biscuit box is equipped with a sturdy, perfectly closing hinged lid that is also decorated with a pearl rim. Saucer and box match perfectly and were made by the same silversmith. Both with beautiful and complete Dutch hallmarks and marked with Dutch silver marks: silver content Lion passant with 2 (used between 1814 and 1953) = 2nd grade content 0. 833. Assay office Minerva head with the letter C = The Hague. Year letter tray C = 1912 Year letter biscuit box Z = 1909 Master stamp VK under crescent = Fa N. M. van Kempen en Zonen Voorschoten (stand below both) Is a large lot, dimensions are: saucer has a diameter of 18. 8 cm. Biscuit box has a diameter of 13. 00 cm and a height of approx. 8. 00 cm. The set is also heavy and has a total weight of 616. 00 grams (not weighted so nett weight) Both the saucer and the biscuit box are in exceptionally beautiful and intact condition (saucer has some light signs of wear and scratches) . These beautiful handmade silver biscuit box and saucer are striking and particularly decorative objects due to their beautiful shape and their robust, very chic appearance.
