Large statue saint on dragon - 110 cm - Wood - Circa 1700

Very beautiful sculpture carved from one piece of walnut depicting a holy figure with staff standing on a dragon. Presumably it concerns Margaret of Antioch, who is often depicted as she escapes a dragon or stands on top of it. Dating from around 1700, so she is very old. French origin. In good condition with some signs of use. Funny detail are the two right hands. . . so probably one hand has once been replaced. The height of this very decorative and fine art work is 110 cm.
