Large vase. Japan, Meiji Period (1868-1912).
Dai Min Sentoku Nensei.
In bronze.
Black-brown patina with archaizing decoration.
With small turtles partially gilded inside.
Seal engraved under the base.
Measurements: 25 cm x 42 cm x 43 cm.

Large Japanese vase made during the Xuande reign of the Meiji period. Made in bronze, it presents incised decoration in fine chiseling of archaizing type and vegetal inspiration. Small turtles worked in relief and patinated in gold have been worked on the inside. This type of vases or vases were used in the altars of the temples, being thus objects of great value that only part of the aristocracy could afford.
