The birth of the Council of Trent led to the production of different ornaments, metals and gems with which religious images were enhanced and embellished in order to better transmit Christian values. In New Spain, the guilds of silversmiths dedicated to creating these types of ornaments, crowns and embellishments accepted the religious and social values which promoted the institutions of the colonial order.
