Late 18th C. Tibetan Copper Ladle w/ Brass Handle

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. late 18th to mid-19th century CE. A ceremonial ladle composed with a deep copper scoop and a slender brass handle attached to one side. The handle has a curled suspension loop on the outer end and has its top surface embellished with engraved curvilinear motifs. Ladles like this example were used for filling vessels with liquid or filling lamps with butter. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 12.125" L x 5.375" W (30.8 cm x 13.7 cm)
