Watercolour, gouache, India ink, and crayon on wove paper with watermark "The Best Paper made in Docelles Vosges", laid down on light card (32 x 40.6 cm) 20.7 x 30.5 cm Signed and dated 'Le Corbusier 1937' in crayon lower right. Dedicated 'pour Germaine Ducret amicalement Le Corbusier N. A 48 ' [Nouvel An 1948] in pencil on the card lower right. - In very fine condition.
Germaine Ducret was the wife of the engineer Paul Ducret, a close friend and consultant of Le Corbusier.
Certificate
With a photo-certificate by Naïma and Jean-Pierre Jornod, Geneva, dated 13 Jan. 2010 and a confirmation by Jean-Pierre Duport, Fondation Le Corbusier, Paris, dated 10 Oct. 2011.
The work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of drawings by Le Corbusier.
