Property from a Private Californian Collection
Gustave Loiseau
1865 - 1935
Le Givre ou Effet de givre

signed G. Loiseau and dated 1910 (lower left)
oil on canvas
73.3 by 92.4cm., 28¾ by 36¼in.
Framed: 106 by 126cm., 41¾ by 49¼in.
Painted in 1910.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue raisonné being prepared by Didier Imbert.

Condition Report:
The canvas is not lined and there do not appear to be any signs of retouching visible under UV light, but it would appear that some of the fine hairline cracks have been consolidated. There are several fine lines of craquelure in places, predominantly to the sky. There is some slight wear to the extreme edges of the canvas and the corners, not visible when framed. There are a few scattered fly spots in places. This work is in overall good condition.

Condition 11 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers (Online Only) is not applicable to this lot.

Provenance:
Durand-Ruel, Paris (acquired from the artist in 1911)
Galeries des Granges, Geneva

Alon Zakaim Fine Art, London (purchased at the above sale)
Acquired from the above by the present owner in 2008
