Le Verre Français SCHNEIDER - French Art Deco pendant light - Chandelier - Glass, wrought iron

[ translate ]

Charles Schneider - Le Verre Français\r
A wonderful French art deco hanging fixture in wrought iron with a nice Schneider Le Verre Français bowl in mottled coloured cameo glass. Made in the mid 20s. This model is called Roses sauvages (Wild roses) . Schneider made vases table lamps and chandeliers with this wild rose pattern. Which he designed between 1918 and 1921. \r
The beautiful bowl is held by the original Schneider fixture in wrought iron. Schneider employed a blacksmith and had his own forge on his compound in Epinay France. Here wrought iron mounts for vases were made as well as fixtures for night lamps perfume burners and chandeliers. The typical shape of the Schneider forged iron pieces is easy to recognize. \r
\r
The bowl is signed with the usual Berlingot sign. A berlingot is one of the oldest traditional hard sweets from France in the colors of the French flag that inspired Schneider for this signature in the shape of a small coloured banner, see pictures. \r
\r
The pendant light has a total height of 76 cm high and the glass bowl has a diameter of 40,5 cm. It's a nice height for high ceilings. If your ceiling isn't that high I can easily shorten the fixture for you. The shade is without chips or cracks and the iron mount has a nice patina. It is rewired with three American candelabra base sockets. For other countries I will place E14 ones for European light bulbs. \r
\r
Safe packaging guaranteed: As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting for over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the fragile items well protected and fully insured. \r
Having custom made wiring I can accept no returns. \r
