The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by the Comité Chagall.

Condition Report:
Executed on cream laid paper, laid down on canvas, which is in turn laid down onto cradled panel. There are artist's pin holes to all four corners. There is some minor frame wear to parts of all four extreme edges and some abrasion and tiny paint losses to some of the thicker black pigments. There are a couple of scuffs to the left part of the upper edge and a few occasional creases and light surface scratches in places. The sheet is slightly time-stained. This work is in overall good condition.
