Issued by the United States Geological Survey; the maps are lithographed by Julius Bien & Co., New York. The atlas is additionally scarce unbound. Includes the text volume published three years later to supplement the atlas volume. The text volume is ex Library Harvard Geology Department, Museum of Comparative Zoology, with numerous markings, but not, it seems, to the plates.
Condition Report: Atlas wrappers worn and chipping, overall edgewear to plates, some pinholes and tears affecting images; volume leather scuffed but binding still sound and interior quite clean; very good atlas and volume.
