Top work by the famous Dutch painter Leendert van der Vlist (1894-1962) . At a young age, Van der Vlist was taught by the teacher Willem de Zwart, among others. He trained as a painter, with the help of a royal subsidy, at the Royal Academy of Art (The Hague) .
In 1938 he was the winner of the 1st prize of the Willink van Collenfonds and in 1943 he won the gold medal of Arti et Amicitiae. Van der Vlist has been a member of the associations De Haagsche Kunstkring, Vereeniging Sint Lucas (Amsterdam) and Maatschappij Arti et Amicitiae (Amsterdam) .
