Legal papers to Mr Steinbeck about a lawsuit

Collection of 11 letters to Mr. John Steinbeck from his New York Law firm Stern & Reubens representing him in various legal matters including what looks like a potential lawsuit from Berny Byrens Production about a "verbal agreement" regarding Cannery Row. These 11 letters range from March 17th 1948 to May 27th 1949. This must of been a rough year for Mr. Steinbeck with some much going on.
