Leica IIIf Feininger set (+ Leitz 5cm f2 Summitar) Analogue camera
Well-known Life photographer Andreas Feininger's black-and-white portrait of his colleague Dennis Stock is world famous. Under the title “The Photojournalist”, this portrait is known to many collectors of Leica and images and is rightly one of Feininger's iconic shots.
The set offered contains similar hardware as in the portrait, namely a Leica IIIf camera with Leitz 5cm f2 Summitar and a Tewe universal viewfinder.
The Leica IIIf body with serial number 649928 dates from 1952 and is in excellent technical condition with a well-running shutter and an accurate and high-contrast rangefinder.
Externally the camera is very nice. No dents or impact damage. The top plate and bottom plate have minimal signs of wear and look virtually as new. The vulcanite is complete and unbroken. Carrying eyes without markings.
The Leitz 5cm f2 Summitar with number 734584 is without scratches, mold or separation damage. Very light internal haze. No dents or impact damage. Light marks on the tube.
The Tewe viewfinder with focal lengths of 35-200 mm is optically excellent and shows hardly any signs of use.
In short: a beautiful set with historical significance in many respects.
