Uit de oude en nieuwe bewyzen opgespoord, saamengesteld, met de echte en oorspronglyke stukken bevestigd en beschreeven door Frans van Mieris. Versierd met de afbeeldsels der voornaamste gebouwen, nieuwlyks konstig in 't koper gebracht. Leiden, widow of A. Honkoop/ A. Kallewier/ C. van Hoogeveen/ A. and J. Honkoop, 1762/ 1770/ 1784, 3 parts in 2 volumes, (20),(362),(90); (4),XXXVI,(2),24,(1),364-860,68,78; (4),VIII,(1),866-1137,(1),106 p., with engraved dedication and altogether 24 engraved plates following the various binder's indices, including 8 splendid folding plates by A. Delfos after J. de Beyer or after himself, 2 EXTRA plates (not in binder's indices) printed in brown and black depicting funerary monuments for Herman Boerhaave and Johannes van den Bergh (strengthened on verso), contemporary blindstamped vellum (parts 1-2 in one vol.), uniform half vellum, folio.
Occas. sl. foxed and a few other small defects; view of the Breestraat with small tear; Nijhoff/ Van Hattum 201. A very fine and complete, LARGE PAPER copy of one of the finest descriptions of the city, exquisitely illustrated and consequently often stripped. The folding plates depict a general profile of the city, the Academiegebouw and beautiful, lively views still very recognisable today. The other plates depict all of the city gates, the churches, the monasteries and hospitals.
