Lengthy Luristan Bronze Spear Point
**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A beautiful and sizeable cast-bronze spear point. It has a slender blade profile, wide at the base and progressively-tapering to a narrow point, as well as a broad midrib which runs the length of both blade faces. The mounting tang has a concurrent narrow form and displays a miniscule curled terminal, and the entire weapon has both pale and dark green patina across all surfaces. The tip is ever-so-slightly bent, though this does not detract from the overall appeal of this ancient example of bronze weaponry! Size: 14.125" L (35.9 cm).
Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection
All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
