Closely associated with Rouen, which inspired him to create unforgettable paintings, Léonard BORDES continually demonstrated his instinctive sensitivity in rich and moving works, an indisputable sign of his talent that made him one of the most remarkable and productive painters of the School of Rouen made. Born into a family of musicians, himself a cellist at the Théâtre des Arts, faithful to the teachings of the Masters of the Regional School of Fine Arts, Léonard BORDES, combining his two passions, managed to understand and translate regional poetry, which of the Normandy region and its metropolis from which emerged simple and sincere canvases, melancholic or anecdotal, but always constructed in quickly placed masses, and interrupted by these gnarled trees, the uncertain sky, and whose poignant suggestion was sometimes joined by a lively dead nature .
