Esquivillon & De Choudens was active in Geneva and Paris between 1765 and 1830. The Geneva watchmaker Jacques Dechoudens (1728-1801) founded a workshop with the Esquivillon brothers that produced high-quality verge pocket watches.
Fine verge watch in a gold case with quarter repeater, enamel back and diamonds.
Most beautiful appearance - artfully crafted
Enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer framed dot minute track with Arabic 5 numbers in front. Classic, heavily decorated original steel hands - set with diamonds. Center diamond star with six stones. Very good condition. Elevator at number two. Signed Les Fes Esquivillon & De Choudens. All diamonds used on the hands and center star are present.
Gold engraved dial surround.
Diamond bezel with engraved connection circle - diamonds complete except for one stone.
Case opening buttons also with center diamond.
Winding key which is also the hand setting key on the center square of the dial is available.
Fine, masterfully designed back with engraved decorative edge beginning - green enamel ring - central medallion in blue with decorative leaf edge - rose at the bottom - two kissing doves at the top. Framed red enamel with applied onnyx or turquoise gemstone.
