Letter by the Admor Rabbi Yerucham Leiner of Radzin - with Reference to the Passing of His Wife the Pious Rebbetzin - Brooklyn, 1960

Letter by the Admor of Radzin the holy Gaon Rabbi Yerucham Leiner, addressed to Rabbi Yehuda Leib Hacohen Maimon - Brooklyn, 1960.

Like his father and grandfathers, Rabbeinu was a famed Gaon. He used to send his comments to be printed in varied Kuntresim, among others, to a journal edited by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Hacohen Maimon. This letter contains a discussion of Rabbeinu's comments on the Rambam and Midrash Rabba. He also apologizes for not replying to Rabbi Maimon's letter because of his wife's passing: "יסלח נא לי ידידי על שלא קיימתי הבטחתי וכן לא השבתי על מכתבו.... כי עברו עלי ימים של צער ל"ע מפטירת זוגתי המנוחה ע"ה, ימתקו לה רגבי עפרה"

The Admor Rabbi Yerucham Leiner of Radzin (1888-1964) the son of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshil author of Likutei Divrei Torah the brother of the Admor Rabbi Gershon Chanoch Henich author of "Sidrei Taharot, known as Ba'al hatchelect. From his early days his enormous talents were evident and he even corresponded with the Gaon of Brezhan, and a reply to him appears in his book Shut Mahrasham. His articles which written with astonishing genius were published in the periodicals of the time. He authored books on Nigleh and Nistar, including "הערות על הירושלמי", "הערות על הזוהר", "הגר"א איש הנגלה והנסתר", "זכרון לראשונים".
