Imposing Engish Arts and Crafts movement dresser sideboard attributed to the celebrated Liberty & Co. c. 1895. Display dresser top with large flared cornice. Solid oak construction throughout. Excellent condition retaining the original decorative ironwork, and locks. Typically the design references British vernacular antique furniture (the traditional high back dresser) whist introducing new forms and the influence European Art Nouveau in the flared shape of the base and decorative detail to the hinges. It was this distictive blend of styles produced in solid English oak which came to define the Liberty look of this period. The dresser / sideboard is in 2 parts The top part is easy to take off Condition is good No keys !
