Lida - Amsterdam
LIDA (1963) was born in Amsterdam and grew up in the Jordaan. After studying at the Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam, Lida developed herself as a fine painter. For years she painted Amsterdam in a realistic manner. Due to trauma in her personal life, Lida felt blocked from making art for years. Only after being persuaded by people around her did she pick up her brush and start painting again. Slowly she began to find new inspiration and joy in painting, but now in a different, loose and cheerful style. The result of this 'therapy' are colorful and cheerful cityscapes of Amsterdam.
