Limoges French porcelain antique 19th Century fish or game service. Includes large monumental oval form platter, handled gravy or sauce boat with matching under plate, and ten dinner plates. Each decorated in a rich crimson red ground and embellished with profuse gilding to scalloped rims and in floral highlights throughout. Central landscape scenes of playful cherub putti fairy figures in activities with fishing motifs. Measurement is for platter. Plates measure 9" diameter and approximate 1.25" deep. Gravy boat measures 4" x 4" x 7.5". Underplate measures. 1" x 9" x 6.5". All bearing circa 1899 green LIMOGES backstamps, with red stamp for L STRAUS & SONS (American importers), several pieces with impressed mark of a spiral within circle.
