Empire Coffee Service, Limoges JMC Maureil Chapeau & Charles, Manufacturer Decorator (1890-1908)

Description :

Very elegant coffee service in fine Limoges porcelain, early 20th century (1908-1909) , Empire style, with refined decoration of eagles on seedlings of stars, placed on garlands and laurel branches, and an alignment of bees in golden tones with fine 24 carat gold.
Fretel in openwork button with four branches.
Porcelain and decorations of great finesse.

Very fashionable during the 1st Empire and 2nd Empire, this type of decoration reproduces the symbols associated with glory (laurel branches) , military victories (eagles) and immortality and resurrection (golden bees) relating the new dynasty at the origins of France.
The golden bees were discovered in the tomb of Childeric I, founder in 457 of the Merovingian dynasty and father of Clovis, they are considered the oldest emblem of the sovereigns of France.

- Eleven pieces on baluster-shaped pedestals:

Parlon” factory which conquered the most prestigious tables of royal families and institutions.
Thus, it follows from the JMC stamps on the three main pieces and UC on three cups that this service was manufactured between 1908 and 1909.
