Lincoln for President, 1864- Union Presidential Ticket For Darke County, OH
Ticket/Invitation

A Republican presidential ticket from the state of Ohio listing Abraham Lincoln for President and Andrew Johnson for Vice President, followed by a list of 21 electors. Measuring 2.75" x 7.5", Darke County, OH, dated November 8, 1864. Featured at the top is a printed illustration of Lady Liberty, holding a sword representing the "Union". Areas of expected age toning, with flattened creasing and bumped corners throughout; small pin hole present at middle as a result of counting. A very good to near fine example overall.

Ohio was won by the National Union Party candidate, incumbent President Abraham Lincoln, who won the state with 56.37% of the popular vote. The Democratic Party candidate, George B. McClellan, garnered 43.63% of the popular vote. Lincoln's victory made him the first president to win re-election since Andrew Jackson in 1832, as well as the first Northern president to ever win re-election. This second term would be cut tragically short however, following his assassination on April 14, 1865.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
