Linda Glover Gooch Arizona / Kansas (b.1956) After The Storm, desert landscape oil on masonite signed lower right. Biography from the Archives of askART Born and raised in Southern California, Linda Gooch is a still life and landscape painter whose desire to create art started at a young age. Beginning with private art lessons at the age of 12, she continued her education by studying with painters including Scott Christensen, Matt Smith, Joni Falk, and Joan Potter. While in her twenties Linda lived in Carlsbad, California, painting seascapes, landscapes and teaching oil painting classes. At the age of 28, Linda met her husband Joe while on a painting trip in Yosemite, California. One year later they married and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. In New Mexico, Linda was introduced to Plein-air painting and the importance of painting from life. Studying and painting from life opened a new era in her career. She believes that the enjoyment one receives while working out on location, or the fun in arranging props, smelling the flowers and feeling the fruit, adds such life to ones work. Living in Santa Fe for eight years and working around other artists and the unique culture of Santa Fe was a big influence on her.Linda and her family now reside in Mesa Arizona. 17 1/2" x 23 1/2" (image), 24 1/4" x 30 1/2" (frame)
