Lodderein box (1) - .833 silver, The Netherlands. 1833.

The antique silver lod(d) erein box is of the oval type and has a boat-shaped hinged lid. The center piece is finished with oval chased surfaces between a laurel wreath under a pearl edge. The lid has finely engraved floral motifs, profile edges and an eyelet on top to allow the loderein box to be hung on a chatelaine/harness.

Silver hallmarks:
walking lion (2nd grade silver, 833/1000) - minerva head B Utrecht - year letter Y 1833 - silversmith's maker's mark.

Sizes:
long 3. 5 cm - wide 2. 5 cm - high 4 cm and a weight of 18 grams.
