Lodovico CAVALERI, was one of the most important artists of the Lombard School of the late 1800s.
. This beautiful painting is an oil on canvas of significant size 50 x 50 cm, signed on bottom left.

. For the pictorial style and the type of the subject, the painting can be dated in the last decade of the 1800s. It has a low colour range and enhanced by the pink preparation on which the colour is stretched with fluid fields.

. From a private collection in Milan.

. He was successful from a young age: in 1892, at the age of 25, he won the gold medal at the Exhibition promoted by the Society of Fine Arts in Milan. International exhibitions and awards followed in Munich, London, Barcelona and South America.
. He was present in the most important Museums of Modern Art (Rome, Milan. . .) as well as in banking foundations and private collections.
