Logan Maxwell Hagege (b. 1980) is a contemporary artist born in Los Angeles, California, raised in the San Fernando Valley, and now based between Southern California and Ojai. He originally set out to become an animation artist but shifted toward fine art, eventually training in an advanced Master's Program at a classic atelier modeled on traditional French art schools, spending long days drawing and painting live models, and studying privately with Steve Huston and Joseph Mendez. Drawing on childhood visits to his grandmother in the California desert and extensive travels through the American Southwest, Hagege developed a signature approach he calls "stylized realism" — a mastery of geometric design in which sharp angles and edges are softened by billowing, curved clouds that often echo the shapes of the blanketed figures below. His work, largely centered on Native American subjects and desert landscapes, is held in major institutional collections including the Autry Museum of the American West, the Booth Western Art Museum, and the James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art, and he is widely regarded as one of today's leading contemporary Western painters.
