. Longines is a doyen regarding the whole Swiss clock industry. The company has already been a watch shop since 1832. The watch factory, though, was established in 1866 by Ernest Francillon, a Swiss clockmaker. In 1867, it became one of the first Swiss watchmaking manufactories, winning the first gold medal for a pocketwatch at the wold exposition that very same year.
