The "Garbage Pail Kids" card series was very popular with children in the 1980s. The success was insane. Every child in the country walked around with several cards ready in his pocket in case he met another child with cards he did not yet have. The series was first released in 1985 in the United States and its dizzying success has been translated into many languages and to the Hebrew version as well. In 1987, a film was even produced about it that was a pretty big failure and provoked protest among parents that the concepts such as "Pouring Lauren" or "Large Marge" sounded less politically correct even then ...
In 2003, the "Garbage Pail Kids" returned to the United States market with new cards and sequels, which are still produced and sold there today.
In 2007, mobile companies and various mobile portals offered their customers to download to their mobile device digital wallpapers of the garbage bunch characters.
And the cards have become a sought-after collectible item.
