Lot details A Chinese export famille rose armorial porcelain bowl, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, circa 1765 Of deep rounded form, decorated with the coat of arms of the Garforth family on two sides, surrounded by colourful floral sprays, the remaining sides finely enamelled with Chinese figures in garden settings, interspersed with trees and flowering plants, the interior rim with a gilt decorative border. Diameter 17cm. 清乾隆 約1765年 粉彩加福斯家族紋章人物碗 Reference: See David Sanctuary Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, 1974, p. 344, for porcelain bearing the Garforth family coat of arms, as identified by a handwritten label on the base.Condition Report Condition: Two faint hairlines extending approximately 4cm from the rim.
